Special children’s transport to the Surgery Unit
We immediately think about the little ones that are also present at our Hospital. We transport the children patients to the surgery unit in a special way that it may minimize this stressing moment in order to minimize the pain not only for the children, but also for their parents.

The premature patients from the Recent Born Intensive Care and Children’s Unit have some benefits from this technique that it may demonstrate the love from their mother and it helps on the baby’s recovery.

Nap time in the Intensive Care for Recent Born and Children’s Unit
It well known that the babies in hospital suffer from stress and, during this resting period there is no manipulation whatsoever, they may relax and let the growth hormone free, besides gain weight easier too. To preserve life quality for the recent born is a must. That is the main reason we have established the nap time, period that babies are not manipulated, with exception if there is any kind of urgency.

Parent’s presence in the Recovering Unit (Surgery Center)
You may have an idea how a child feels when waking up from a surgery in a room with unknown people wearing masks. In order to minimize this bad feeling, the parents presence with the child is recommended, because it brings care and makes the child secure, minimizing the child’s stress.

Special place to play
Sometimes the period that a child is kept in hospital is long. It may make them feel afraid, anxious and tired. For a child is difficult to deal with the limitations impose by the hospital environment. The child is kept from the daily activities, such as: going to school, playing with friends. Playing is a child right and we have this special place so they may rescue at least this daily activity which is quite important.

A family member presence at the delivery room
It is very important to have the emotional support at this moment. A dear family member may provide it to the future mother at the delivery. In order to welcome this new recent born to this world with love and care, the mother may name a family member to join her at this unforgettable moment.

Celebrating birthdays
The great majority of people enjoy to be greeted at their birthdays. We should celebrate it, even being in hospital. We, at São Camilo Hospital have a special surprise for those Who are celebrating their birthdays.

Health Pastoral and Chapel
The Hospital holds spiritual practice and they provide religious “camilianos” and pastoral agents to offer spiritual support to patients and their families.

First Aids for Children
In order to minimize the stress from children who come to the Hospital, the nurse team has begun to use special adhesives for children during the punctures. On the observation room, there are books for children available for patients and in the waiting room there is a person offering colored chalk in several colors to paint some drawings, making this period of time fun. This environment presents one more attraction for children: interactive drawings on the walls, done by a plastic artist, that may also help during this period.

Kit to play
The 3 to 12 year-old patients receive a kit with chalks and drawings to be colored. The drawings are picked and show different themes each month of the year. Through this kit, the child may be entertained with a similar activity from his daily routine, making his stay at the hospital easier and more comfortable.

Mourning Families
To take care of our customers is our responsibility and it includes the mourning period. For these special occasions, there is “the family room” to keep the family waiting for the beginning of the services, offering privacy and comfortable place with the support of a professional team and folder that guides everyone.

Celebrating special dates
We look forwards to provide a similar stay to their daily lives. Therefore, we supply some small souvenirs to celebrate Father’s Days, Mother’s Day. For Easter and Children’s Days the children join a recreation activity.
